Education today is not just about teaching and learning alone. It is about mentoring and accompanying the child.Every child expects appreciation, guidance, encouragement and support. If weonly give a pat when it does well is not enough. It also needs to be mouldedpruned, corrected from time to time to respond to challenges, defeats andstruggles. Mentoring should not just be positive. A child must taste defeat or come second to know that failure is part of life. That is mentoring – a combination of positive and negative experiences.
Mentoring is creating an environment for the child to bloom fully in the midst of thorns like a rose. We, at St Joseph's, try this by a good blend of strictness and kindness. We have a good combination of excellent, qualified and experienced staff. Sports and cultural activities too are given prominence for the all-round development of children.
